First, what this page leaves out

This site does not cover wine, beer, spirits or hard seltzer calendars, and it does not link to them. Many 2026 roundups mix drinks calendars in with tea and chocolate. We keep them separate on purpose. Everything below is alcohol-free.

Tea advent calendars

Tea calendars are the easiest to share, because most include enough for more than one cup.

DAVIDsTEA has two limited-edition calendars on its U.S. site this year: 24 Days of Tea and 24 Days of Matcha. Each makes 48 servings. The tea version promises “festive blends to caffeine-free cups,” which helps if the person drinks tea in the evening.

Fortnum & Mason Tea Lovers Advent Calendar. Design Milk describes 24 individually wrapped tea bags in black, green, oolong and herbal varieties, with a teatime poem.

Tea Forte Winter Chalet. A 12-day calendar that TODAY says includes a winter chai among its blends.

Vahdam Advent Calendar Tea Bags Gift Set. Taste of Home lists 24 blends across spiced, herbal, green, white and black teas.

Coffee advent calendars

Coffee calendars vary most by the brewer they need, so check that first.

  • Keurig 24 Cups of Cheer. K-Cup pods from several brands, which TODAY lists as including Lavazza, La Colombe, Caribou Coffee and McCafe.
  • Keurig 12 Cups of Winter Bliss. A shorter variety pack of winter-flavored pods.
  • Door County Coffee. The maker lists 24 full-pot bags of 1.5 ounces each, with holiday flavors such as Mistletoe Mocha. Taste of Home notes the coffee comes pre-ground for drip machines.

How much caffeine is in a coffee or tea calendar?

It depends on the cup. The FDA cites 400 milligrams a day as a safe amount for most healthy adults, roughly two to three 12-ounce cups of coffee. It gives 71 milligrams for a 12-ounce black tea and 113 to 247 milligrams for regular brewed coffee. A daily calendar cup rarely pushes anyone over, but it adds to what they already drink. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding should ask their doctor about limits, the FDA says.

Chocolate and sweet calendars

This is where 2026 calendars get creative.

Compartes has three 24-day designs this year: Enchanted Castle, Nutcracker and Winter Forest, per Design Milk. The Enchanted Castle calendar holds 24 chocolates in 12 flavors, including pistachio marzipan and salted honeycomb, according to Compartes.

Dandelion Chocolate 2026. Design Milk describes 25 confections made by 24 chocolatiers from North America and Japan, in ornament boxes with a storybook and keepsake star.

Lindt Teddy. Taste of Home lists chocolate bears, balls and Neapolitans in milk, white and dark chocolate.

Vosges Haut-Chocolat. 25 confections in a calendar that lights up and plays music, with a new theme each year, per Taste of Home.

Not a chocolate fan? TODAY and Taste of Home also list Walker’s Shortbread (24 days of shortbread shapes), Sugarfina’s Snoopy’s House calendar (24 candies, a mix of gummies and other sweets), Lakrids by Bulow licorice and the Bonne Maman calendar of 24 mini jam jars.

How to read the allergen label

Food calendars pack many flavors into one box, so allergens are easy to miss. U.S. labels must name any of the nine major food allergens: milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame. The FDA says they appear either in parentheses after an ingredient, such as “flour (wheat),” or in a “Contains” statement next to the ingredient list. Sesame joined the list on January 1, 2023.

Many chocolatiers add a facility note too. The Compartes Enchanted Castle page, for example, lists milk, eggs, soy and tree nuts as ingredients and says its facility also handles peanuts, wheat and sesame. For someone with a severe allergy, that facility line matters as much as the ingredients.

Tip

Buying for a household with allergies? A tea or coffee calendar is usually simpler than chocolate. Still read the label: flavored teas and coffees may contain nuts or milk.

Heat, shipping and storage

Chocolate calendars are often ordered weeks before December, sometimes while it is still warm. Chocolatiers plan for this. Compartes says it ships Monday to Wednesday in warm weather to avoid weekend transit, packs with ice when needed, and may hold orders when the destination is over 75°F for 2-day shipping or 80°F for next day.

Once it arrives, bring the box inside promptly and keep it somewhere cool and away from radiators and sunny windows until December.

What does “Best if Used By” mean on a calendar?

According to the FDA, a “Best if Used By” date marks when a product will be at its best flavor and quality. It is not a safety date. Except for infant formula, federal law does not require quality dates on packaged food. For a gift, choose a calendar made for this season so the food is at its best through Christmas.

Buying a food calendar on eBay

eBay is a good backup when a sought-after calendar sells out, with a few extra checks for food.

  • Buy new, sealed and current-season. Avoid last year’s food calendars.
  • Check shipping time and packaging, especially for chocolate in warm weather.
  • Ask for label photos if the allergen statement is not shown.
  • Read seller feedback for comments on damage and melting.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best tea advent calendar?

It depends on how they brew. DAVIDsTEA's 24 Days of Tea includes caffeine-free cups and makes 48 servings, while Fortnum & Mason's Tea Lovers calendar uses individually wrapped tea bags. Tea Forte's Winter Chalet is a shorter 12-day option.

Is there a coffee advent calendar for K-Cup machines?

Yes. Keurig sells a 24 Cups of Cheer calendar with pods from brands such as Caribou Coffee and Lavazza, plus a 12 Cups of Winter Bliss variety pack. For drip or French press drinkers, Door County Coffee's calendar has 24 small bags of ground coffee.

Can chocolate advent calendars melt in shipping?

They can, especially in warm states. Chocolatiers such as Compartes pack with ice in warm weather, avoid weekend transit and may hold orders when it is hot at the destination. Bring deliveries inside quickly and store the calendar somewhere cool.

Are there wine or beer advent calendars on this site?

No. We do not cover wine, beer, spirits or hard seltzer calendars. This page sticks to tea, coffee, chocolate and other food calendars.

Is it safe to eat an advent calendar after the best-by date?

The FDA says a Best if Used By date shows when a food is at its best flavor and quality, not when it becomes unsafe. For a gift, though, buy a calendar for the current season so it arrives well within its date.
