A Squishmallows advent calendar comes in two forms. Jazwares’ Micromallows Holiday Plush calendar holds 24 soft 2.5-inch plush and is rated 3 and up. Its Squish-a-longs countdowns hold tiny 1-inch squeezable plastic figures and are rated 6 and up. Squishy Society sells a 12-day squishy box with three calendar exclusives.

Which one to pick

• For a plush lover aged 3 or older: the Micromallows calendar, the only plush option in the table.

Is there a Squishmallows advent calendar?

Yes, and the plush one is the softest option on this page. Jazwares lists 24 holiday characters at 2.5 inches for its 2026 Micromallows calendar, including Junie the Banana, James the Fox, Benny the Bigfoot and Cam the Cat.

Squish-a-longs countdowns

Squish-a-longs are a different product: tiny squeezable plastic figures at 1-inch scale. Jazwares sells a 24-day Holiday Countdown and a 13-day Halloween Countdown, each with a ring attachment for the figures. Jazwares rates both 6 and up, older than the plush calendar.

Thirteen doors means the Halloween box starts on October 19 if you want the last door on Halloween.

Squishy Society 12-Day Advent Calendar

Squishy Society’s calendar runs 12 days, in a pink box with 12 compartments. The textures range from moldable cheese to crunchy bread cake and slushy balls. Three toys are calendar exclusives, and day 12 adds an extra squishy skin and a zip-tie.

The brand suggests starting on December 13 so the last box opens on Christmas Eve. Its product page does not state an age grade, so read the box before you give it to a young child.

Which squishy calendar suits which age?

Squishies belong to the fidget and sensory toy category. The Boston Globe describes fidget toys as handheld objects that burn off restless energy or give a soothing sensation, including for children with sensory issues. Treat that as a description of the category, not a promise about any child.

The age grade does most of the sorting:

Ages 3 to 5. The Micromallows plush calendar and the NeeDoh Squishmas calendar carry a 3+ grade. Open doors together and keep the minis off the floor.

Ages 6 and up. The Squish-a-longs countdowns open up here, since Jazwares rates them 6+.

Tweens, teens and adults. Squishies are not just a little-kid toy, and the Boston Globe’s reporting on the NeeDoh craze covers adults as well as kids. For a teen who already collects, a 13-day Halloween countdown is a fun extra in October.

Are squishy calendars safe for young children?

Mini squishies and 1-inch figures are small by design. The CPSC small parts rule bans small parts in toys intended for children under 3. A small part is anything that fits entirely into a test cylinder sized like a young child’s throat. Toys with small parts sold for older children must carry a choking hazard warning under 16 CFR 1500.19.

Buying a sold-out squishy calendar

Squishy calendars can go early: Good Housekeeping reported on August 6, 2026 that NeeDoh’s calendars were already selling out fast. After that, a reseller is often the main route. Check that the box is sealed, that the door count matches the edition (24 for the holiday calendars, 13 for the Halloween ones) and that the seller shows clear photos of the actual box.
